From Medina, for guests of Medina

About MedinaHomestays

MedinaHomestays connects international guests with real Medina families who open their homes during Umrah, Hajj seasons, and spiritual visits. Instead of a hotel corridor, you wake up in a Medina neighborhood, hear the adhan, and walk to Al-Masjid An-Nabawi knowing a family is waiting for you back home.

Our story & purpose

Medina has always been a city of hospitality and Ansar-like generosity. Yet most visitors today only experience it through hotel lobbies and tour buses. MedinaHomestays was created to restore something simple and beautiful: living with the people of Medina, even if only for a few days.

We carefully bring together host families in Medina and guests from around the world – especially from the USA, Canada, the UK, and Europe – who want more than just a bed. They want warm meals, gentle reminders about salah, and calm walks to the Prophet’s Mosque guided by those who call this city home.

Every MedinaHomestay is designed to protect dignity and comfort on both sides: clear house rules, transparent expectations, and a focus on faith, simplicity, and good character.

What you experience in a MedinaHomestay

  • Staying in a lived-in home, not a lobby – with mothers, fathers, children, and grandparents around you.
  • Walking to Al-Masjid An-Nabawi or the local masjid and returning to conversation, tea, and rest.
  • Sharing home-cooked Medina meals and learning how families really live near the Haram.
  • Hearing stories about Medina’s history and companions, in simple language, over everyday moments.
  • Having space to make du‘a, reflect, and feel part of the rhythm of the city – not just passing through it.

For guests & host families

MedinaHomestays serves two sides of one relationship: the traveller seeking closeness and the Medina family offering their home. Both deserve clarity, respect, and kindness.

For international guests Feel looked after from the moment you land. Hosts help you understand local timings, share how to reach the Prophet’s Mosque, and give you a safe base where your du‘a, rest, and worship come first.
For Medina families Families can welcome guests in a structured way – with clear bookings, agreed house rules, and fair compensation – while keeping their home’s privacy, values, and routine protected.

Beyond accommodation

A MedinaHomestay can include things you simply don’t get from a regular stay: gentle Arabic practice in daily conversation, attending local study circles where appropriate, or walking through historic areas with someone who has known those streets since childhood.

We do not promise luxury. We promise warmth, real life, and the chance to feel the city from inside a home, in shaa Allah.
